Cat Sitting

Happy Orange Tabby Cat

Long Island Cat Sitter Services

I am a professional in-home cat sitter serving central Nassau County, so your cat stays in the one place they actually feel safe. Home.

Why In-Home Sitting Is The Right Call For Cats

Cats are territorial and deeply routine-driven. A boarding facility, no matter how clean or well-run, asks a cat to give up everything familiar at once: their space, their smells, their food bowl, their litter box, the windowsill where the afternoon sun lands.

Most cats don't adjust. They might hide, stop eating, or spend the whole stay stressed. Then they need time to reset once they're home.

When you book in-home cat sitting, your cat can have their routine, their territory, and their food. You come home to a cat who's calm instead of one who needs to recover from the trip you took.

Meet Your Sitter

I'm Kaitlin, owner of Bird Girl Pet Services. I've spent years caring for some of the most complex animals people keep as pets, from parrots to reptiles to small exotic mammals.

Cats are a welcome part of that work, and the same principles apply: pay attention, respect the animal in front of you, and never cut corners on the small things that matter.

Bird Girl Pet Services is fully insured and bonded. When you hand over a key, you're handing it to a professional who treats your home and your cat with the care both deserve.

What every visit includes:

Daily care: Fresh food and water, litter scooping, brushing, play, and real companionship.

Health support: Oral and topical medications as needed. Close monitoring for changes in appetite, behavior, or litter habits.

Home care: Mail and packages brought in, plants watered, lights rotated, blinds and curtains adjusted, leak checks, and a walk-through of windows and doors before I leave.

Communication: Photo and/or video updates after every visit, plus text check-ins so you always know how your cat is doing.

Care for Adult and Senior Cats on Long Island

Adult cats are creatures of habit, and that habit is you. Your schedule, your voice, the specific way you shake the treat bag.

When that disappears for a week, even the most easygoing cat can quietly stop eating or start avoiding the litter box. A visit from a professional cat sitter catches that.

Your cat will get the individualized care they deserve: fresh food and water, clean bowls and litter, a brushing session for the cats who want one, a wand toy for the ones who don't, and a few quiet minutes with the cat who'd rather watch me from across the room.

Senior cats need a closer eye because at their age, the small details really matter. How much they're drinking, whether they're finishing meals, if they're still jumping to their usual spots, where they're choosing to sleep.

These are the things I watch for, and the things I'll text you about the moment something seems off.

Your cat, your trip - let's plan it!

Leaving your cat is hard. I get it. With Bird Girl Pet Services, you're not just booking a sitter.

You're handing someone your keys, your routine, and a little creature who counts on you for everything. I've been doing this long enough to know that's a big deal, and I promise I treat it that way every single time.

With my care, your cat keeps their routine and their favorite spots, home still feels like home, and when you walk back through the door everything is the way you left it. Just with a happier cat waiting for you.

Tell me a little about your cat. Their name, their personality, the weird things they do that you adore. That's where we start!
